Year 5 and Year 6 girls from Waycroft Academy recently had the exciting opportunity to take part in a football tournament.
It was wonderful to see the girls take to the pitch with enthusiasm and confidence. Throughout the tournament, they demonstrated great commitment, teamwork and individual skill, supporting one another and giving every match their very best.
For some of the girls, this was their first experience of competitive football, making their achievements even more special. Although they finished the tournament exhausted, they had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get involved and give it a go.
A spokesperson for Waycroft Academy said: “We are incredibly proud of all girls who represented Waycroft Academy at the tournament.
“They showed fantastic determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, and it was wonderful to see them encouraging one another and enjoying themselves.
“For those playing their first ever football match, it was a brilliant achievement, and we hope this experience inspires them to continue enjoying sport and trying new challenges.
“Well done to all of the girls for representing our school so brilliantly.”
The academy would also like to say a huge thank you to Friends of Waycroft Academy and Grassroots Sports Bristol for sponsoring the team’s new sports tops. The support is greatly appreciated and has helped pupils look and feel the part as they represent the school.
