Paralympian inspires pupils at Waycroft Academy

Pupils and staff at Waycroft Academy were put through their paces by Paralympian athlete Katrina Hart during an action-packed fitness session.

Katrina, who proudly represented ParalympicsGB at the London 2012 Games, was part of the GB 4x100m T35-38 relay team that secured a bronze medal in the iconic Olympic Stadium.

The session kicked off with an intense workout, where both pupils and staff gave it their all, demonstrating incredible determination and effort.

This session was followed by a Q&A, where pupils asked in-depth questions about Katrina’s journey as an international Paralympian, gaining valuable insight into the dedication and resilience required to compete at the highest level.

A special thank you goes to the Year 6 House Captains, who showed outstanding leadership by participating in activities throughout the morning, ensuring all pupils felt supported and motivated.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “Katrina’s visit was an unforgettable experience for our pupils.

“Her story of perseverance and success has inspired everyone to strive for their best, both in sport and in life.”

Waycroft Academy extends its heartfelt gratitude to Katrina for her time, energy, and words of wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on the school community.
